The Dark Time is Here

Around these here parts, when the baseball season is over we say it is the beginning of The Dark Time. When spring training rolls around every February we all call or email each other to say, "The Dark Time is ending! The Dark Time is ending!!" (Like we're sort of 21st-century electronically-up-to-date Druids.) The Phillies season ended yesterday - they were eliminated from wild card contention with 2 games to go.

They were a great team to watch, unlike in past seasons. Because of him:

And him:

And him:

And him:

And him:

And him:

And him:

Not him, unfortunately:

Okay, 2006 Phillies - have a restful Dark Time and come back and win the ding-dang division next year!!!

Tomorrow, back to knitting.

MM,

Sorry for the neglect. I did, however, forward the link to your blog to EVERYONE I KNOW! I check it like a kajillion times a day to get the latest knitting news....and to laugh wildly out loud at work!

I would love to comment on the dark time, but unfortunately I know diddly squat about sports. In fact, I go to the Sox games strictly for the cold beer at the bargain price of $7.00 a cup!! (and to be extremely uncomfortable in the seats that were made for the tiny people of 1912 - but God forbid we build a new park!) I hope that on one of your many future road/banking trips, we can ALL go to a game and get drunk and be squished!!!

I had to change the name because Phillip mentioned my natural blonde hair in a paper for school.....in fact, one of David's friends used to yell "hey Natural" down the hall and the K teacher heard it and now refers to me as "Natural". Lovely!

Do you prefer I post as NB? or will the Mother do?

Well, you are "the mother" of all mothers!! Thank you for commenting, as I was feeling sad and lonely with all the comments over at RTTB.

The blue shirt guy is Chase Utley, or "Chutley" as my dad calls him. You should have seen the girls at Photo Day make a hella FUSS over him!!!

1. Lessons on the blog

2. Knitting lessons!!

Momogus: Who has by far the best name of anyone in the playoffs? Why it's that Twins pitcher Boof Bonser!! Nothing better than that. And did you notice who hit .290 for Minnesota playing third base? None other than discarded-Phillie Nick Punto. (Ed Wade and Larry Bowa are not forgotten...)
