YIPPEEE!!! SNOW!!!

Finally we got a bit of snow. The weather is a cosmic duel between Matthew putting snow tires on the car (automatically keeps the snow away) with my refusal to buy Gus snow boots this year (automatically makes it snow buckets). We got about an inch and a half, which I guess is what you would expect with those competing forces of karma.

Gus and I walked around the neighborhood, had a snowball duel (we stand across the street from each other and take turns standing still while the other person tries to hit you with a snowball. More fun than a snowball fight, for some reason. We were cracking up. Gus won 7-6.) We also made snow angels in the backyard. I haven't made a snow angel in many many years. It was lovely to just lie there and look up at the trees and feel the snow falling on my face.

Finished the second Bird in Hand mitten:

Now I can turn my attention to the mighty Selbuvotter.....

A sad Phillies note: Jon Lieber signed with the Cubs, which means we won't get to see this in spring training:

Yup. I for one will miss that crazy old 14-foot high truck!! We'll miss you [r truck only], Lieber!

A snowball duel!? That sounds wonderful, and I like that you can keep score, so you know FOR SURE who won!

We got about inches in Baltimore. Cathy and I tried to go out driving in it (we thought it was just light snow.) But it was really quite treacherous, so we turned around and came home. Which sounds much simpler than it was. Between the big hills and either bad drivers or bad tires it was really a bit of a scary ride. So much for sightseeing!

Divine One,
Here in my Philly 'hood, we had less than 1".
Enuf to make it look pretty, enuf to make the backyard butterfly bush bend over w/ the weight of the moist snow, enuf to make Philly drivers P-A-N-I-C (babies that they are ^ .. ^ )
Love the newest mitts.
XOXO

When I went to Genuardi's to replenish our ice cream supply, I was the object of fun and derision at the checkout counter: "You come out in the SNOW to buy ICE CREAM!!!! Ha Ha Ha - Whoopee!!!"
I thought that was overdoing it a little. After all I bought a bag of Doritos, too; just stocking up on essentials.

you're more gentle than my mom who would just grab our heads and push our faces in the snow as she laughed like a villain. good times, good times.

omg we got the selbuvotter in but everyone got their copy but me. it's another level of anxiety when you work at a yarn store and books go before you get them. i did manage an opinionated knitter. someone didn't want it b/c it had a black scuff on the front. MINE!

cg - it's just as fun to hunker down in a snowstorm rather than venturing out with the crazy drivers!

gg - hee hee - it's like when you got ice in the snowstorm in utah!

jjp - repeat after me, "selbuvotter.....selbuvotter....." Join the madness!!!

Well, as I recall, we really needed that ice - or something like that. Anyway, it was a long time back.
