To while away the time in a good cause and to improve one's vocabulary go here: FreeRice.com donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Fund every time you correctly identify a vocabulary word. It is addictive, entertaining and educational. (Dad, you alone with your big bag of words could put a serious dent in world hunger.)

And now, because I don't have any knitting stuff to show you, here is a picture of my alternately-beloved-and-detested Mr. April Pat Burrell, who is currently batting .355 with a league-leading (and tied with teammate Chase Utley) 8 home runs*. Feel the love.

*Oops - as friend Kel pointed out, Utley actually has the league-leading 10 home runs.

As you suggested, O Great Momogus, I was able to send a couple hundred grains of rice on their way, although it looked as if they jacked up the level of words as I went along.
And Pat Burrell just keeps going. The sad thing is that he and Chase and Werth and Jenkins are doing most of the hitting for the Phillies; when you look at the batting averages at the tag end of the order (Feliz, Bruntlett, Ruiz, etc.) and Howard right in the middle, that explains why the club is still only one game over .500.

Not to nitpick ... Utley has 10 HR. I should know, since he's on my fantasy team. My *first place* fantasy team, I should say.

gg - the fun part is that it keeps getting more and more difficult. you have to get as close to level 50 as possible. not that it's a competition, of course!!

ks - oops and mea culpa. Chutley (as we call him) does indeed have 10. Good luck with your first place team!!
